Changes We Want and Need

A lot of people may be contented about what's happening in their lives, but it's necessary for all of us to change. There's a line in my favorite song, " I won't change anything in my life ", and I kept that in my heart and mind, because maybe I'm okay with myself. But for some reasons, I realized there's a need for me to change for good. Same goes with our society, nation and the whole world. Things maybe good or better but admit it, want want and need the best; that we need to change the good things to become better and the bad things to be good.
In myself, honestly, there are a bunch of things I want and need to change. First, is how I work on school. I really want to change that habit of mine on not submitting requirements on time. I noticed that. I maybe doing this at little times, but I should change this habit, it's bad. I also want to be a good role model to my sister, because I think I'm not showing much effort to be a responsible daughter or person, and she looks up to me. This is what I meant for a better change. I also want to change my habit on watching television most of the time. Not only for health reasons but also, it kills my time and attention to more important things, like studying and chores. I'm always scolded when I do this. I really want to change but it somehow attracts me, it's like a guilty pleasure of mine.
For a citizen like me, even though I don't speak my mind in our society, there are things I want to change. Top of the list would be cleanliness, because cleanliness is next to health, and health is the key to a prosperous life. I want to change the dirty people walking on this earth, what I mean are those thieves, murderers and all sorts of people doing crimes. I could help them by showing them how to be a peaceful citizen myself. If they see me doing that, their conscience  will be shakened and they will change.
A change in the nation will be a big work for a tiny person like me. But if at least I spread the word, all of the people will be aware  of the changes I want. I want the prices to be enough for the citizens. Prices are really high nowadays, so I want to tell the authorities to give SRP's just right and enough for all of us. For the nation, I want to change the idea of the foreign people that Filipinos should be rejected. Somehow they misinterpreted Filipinos as being dull and lame, but in reality they don't realize that they need us Filipinos. I want the Philippines' image to be the best.
The world is a big trouble right now, so obviously , the only thing I want to change would be fighting and there will be peace. I want war-related countries to stop fighting against each other and realize that it's so much hard work to put up a war and why won't we just let bygones be bygones ? That's so simple. And God from above would be happy if he sees His children being friends, right ? I want peace , really. I want to hear birds chirping and bells  ringing not gunshots or screaming people asking for help. And I know all of the people would love that.
The changes I want for myself would be easier to be changed but the changes for the society, nation and the whole world will be a little bit hard work, I need help. So I want to encourage people that we need to work together to achieve the changes we want and need and live a life that's enough to be happy about.

Deconstruction of Thank You M'am

The first thing I spoke after reading Thank You M'am was " Is this for real? ". You will never, ever see a situation like in the story in the real world. All the time, when people, even myself encounter a situation like this, the scene would be: panic, police being called, getting freaked out and possibly, get some help from people nearby, that would be it. The story seems to be very fictitious for me. But I think the author would like to point out that there maybe people in the world left who does not and see or do things on the other side. For me, the author wants the readers to see that in a crazy and unexpected world we have now, there are still people who gives trust in a unique way. The author wants the readers to be like Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones.
What I love in the story is Mrs. Jones' character, she's so smart. She speaks very creative. The fact that she took care of Roger for a short span of time was amazing. She trusted the boy so fast that she treated him like her own son. It's really rare to see that in the real world. For other people, their perspective would be, there's more to life than trusting other people. It does make sense but Mrs. Jones acted the opposite way. Hence, the author wants the readers to get the idea that when being in a situation like in the story, you should not rush; see what's the suspect's reason behind and see if there's a way for you to help, that's the good part for me.
But the bad part in the story for me was for the readers rather those doing crimes to still pursue what they're doing. Because in the story, it's not what you expect. They may think that there maybe still people who are like Mrs. Jones. And they took the advantage. They will think that, " let's steal " or do such crimes because people will react in the opposite way, like Mrs. Jones. So it kind of corrupts the mind of those people, if they might read the story.
But I still like the story. Actually, I was smiling after reading it also. It's quite a peculiar story, that sees the idea that sometimes we should try to do things in the opposite way.

My Teacher, MY Hero

" With power comes great responsibility ". Just like Spiderman, Superman, Wonderwoman and any other super heroes in our imagination, they became a legend. These heroes have kept the minds of the people that heroes have to offer big things. In our modern world, these fantasy-like heroes do not exist, but simple and naive heroes are what we're having. As we go on in our lives, we meet these heroes and thank them for giving all they got to everyone, because simply, being a hero requires strength and courage to help people in need. The heroes that I'm saying are our parents, the government, the people we meet or not. An example of these are our noble teachers. What can a teacher offer to his or her students ?
Teachers are always heroes in every generation due to the fact that they help, inspire and most of all understand. I have this teacher of mine, she's not my favorite, but she inspires me and that makes her a hero to me. She is so much like a hero. She never gives up for her students to learn and excel. Sometimes, she easily gets mad, but she also lends all of us a big smile, because heroes always smile even though they're in pain or bad mood. Like a hero, she saves students who have failing grades by teaching so passionately and that's a good thing. I love her sense of humor, because I really love jokes. In the middle of the class, she finds an opportunity to have a good laugh for each and everyone of us. She really makes me admire her by her intelligence. She is so smart that she easily notices her mistakes while discussing the lessons. Even though she tells us that we're lames, I know she is doing it for us to really do hard in studying our lessons. To prove ourselves and be proud of ourselves. Last year, I had this failing grade in her subject. She told me what's wrong, and it's so painful to hear. But instead of calling me a fool or lame, she encouraged me not to give up, that I still have the time and chance to excel. She told me that I'm not dull, that I just need faith in myself and to Him and have proper self-discipline. She told me points of view that made me realize that I still have the chance if I do it well. I will never forget what she told me, " don't give up ".
By then, I realized she's so much of a hero. If she can do all those encouraging statements to me, than she can do it to everyone. She makes students realize that we're really not dull. We just need to work hard and study well. And that's why my teacher, my hero is Mrs. Esmeralda Medija.

Our Values Today

In so many conditions, values are one of the most important things that a man can develop or improve. From these things, a man makes an improvement of himself or sometimes gets messed up. Each and everyone of us has our own values, maybe one, two or even more. The whole world cannot exist without man's values.
In our society, we have common values. It's in our nature to have faith and trust God that everything will be alright. We go to church to show how we worship Him. Even though kids and teenagers nowadays do get over the top, they do somehow realize the point of keeping the bond with their family. Most of us gives importance in owning expensive materials like, cellphones, iPod, owning a comfortable house to live in, expensive cars and a lot more. People work hard and push themselves to finally own these things. These are only few of the things that people value today. We're living life to the fullest with those things in the cycle of our lives.
Apart from the good values that we're developing today, somehow, there are still values that were not developed in an appropriate way. All we have to do is to stop for a while and think of what it can do for us and to the people around us. Of course our conscience will be a good help. And then, we'll be realizing to value things in a good way. Don't rush, take it slow, and with the help of God, you can live your life as what you want to make it.
